Not far from Palma Cathedral and if we walk towards the area of la Calatrava, we find this little stately courtyard called Can Vanrell at Carrer Sant Alonso. It is a private property, so you can either find it open or closed, although if it is open you can feel free to take pictures as the owners leave it visible on purpose!

There are plenty of elegant stately courtyards in central Palma. So many, that the town hall has created a route for you to discover all of them. You can find the list here. Most of them date back from the XVIII century and they tell us a story about how well-off people used to live back in the days in the city of Palma. Another one I really like, which we already visited in a recent post, is Cas Marquès de Vivot.
